How do you receive official notification of your new license and call sign after passing the exam?

Why Since 2021 the FCC no longer prints and mails paper licenses. When your application is granted in the ULS, the Commission sends an electronic notification to the email address on file, containing a link where you can download or print your official license document. Section 97.23 requires every license grant to show a mailing address and a valid email address where the licensee can be reached, which is why keeping that email current matters.
Watch out The volunteer examiners only file your paperwork with the VEC; they do not issue the license or the call sign, so no notice comes from the lead VE. Paper licenses by First-Class Mail ended when the FCC went fully electronic.
FCC grants come by email, not envelope. Keep a working email address in ULS or you may never see your call sign.

Each license grant must show the grantee's correct name, mailing address, and email address. The email address must be an address where the grantee can receive electronic correspondence. Revocation of the station license or suspension of the operator license may result when correspondence from the FCC is returned as undeliverable because the grantee failed to provide the correct email address.
